Thanks to the 50-70 of you that came out last week in Eastsound and said you’d like to show up again and bring friends, tomorrow at 12:00 will be another silent protest in town to let our neighbors in Canada and the nations around the world know that we are not in agreement with Trump’s decisions.
Bring anyone you would like. As long as it is peaceful. Don’t be held back by anything – you don’t need a sign or any kind of clothing. If you do bring a sign or wear anything with messages, keep them peaceful as well.
Last week’s participants suggested that we have a contest – which generation can show up in the most numbers tomorrow:
- The Greatest Generation/The G.I. Generation (1901–1927)
- The Silent Generation (1928 – 1945)
- Baby Boomers (1946 – 1964)
- Generation X (1965 – 1980)
- Millennials/Generation Y (1981 – 1996)
- Generation Z/iGen/Centennials (1997 – 2012)
- Alpha Generation (2013 – Present)
So spread the word, especially to the younger generations. I think I was one of the youngest ones there, and I’m 50!
Also, many of you mentioned wanting to spread the word to particular news agencies and programs. I spoke with King 5 News and they would like photos and videos after the protest, so connect with me and I will pass on the contact information they gave me.
