Snow Ice Cream for Breakfast

We are milking the snow on the ground for all it’s worth before it melts completely, thanks to a post on Facebook by Mandy R. showing her family’s homemade snow ice cream. I’m so glad she thought of it, as I’m wanting to do everything possible with snow since we probably won’t see any again until next year.

It’s so easy. Just combine the following in a big bowl and be ready to eat it immediately. We happened to have some banana bread coming out of the oven too.

  • 1 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 8 cups clean snow (more or less, depending on the density)

It’s really cold and melts quickly. My fillings felt frozen after trying to consume it before it turned to a sweet milk puddle.

There the rest of it goes, melting away before our eyes…

  1. Hey! I’m wondering if you could point me in the direction of that Thrift cabin?
