Skimming the Surface

After six months of down jackets, I yearn for the day that sunny weather is here to stay. This was our first full week of straight sun, uninhibited by blocks of cold cloudiness.

Last week, on an eerie, rainy, Saturday walk, my husband was one of the only people I saw out on the roads. This week, people are driving around and puttering about at the nursery, the sun is beaming nonstop, and I’ve swapped my jackets and pants for swimsuits and shorts.

The air is completely different – it’s fresh, alive, sun-filled, sweet-smelling, and downright warm for a change, at least for Orcas!

Here are views from the deck of my paddleboard this week. This glittering magic is why we moved here…

Look for an eagle perched on a rock straight ahead of me in one of them.
