Life Through Louise Tucker’s Eyes

One of my favorite locals to “visit” on Facebook is Louise Tucker. What she posts is downright therapeutic. It’s calming. It’s innocent. It’s clean and pure. It’s peaceful.

Louise notices all that’s right in front of her. She not only takes time to look, she quietly seeks out everyday miracles. That’s what you feel when you see her photos – a respect for all that is right in our midst, all that can easily be overlooked if one is too hurried to simply immerse in it all.

May you, too, feel her unhurried respect for nature’s simple pleasures in this sampling of her images, dotted with a few quotes with which she resonates.

…nobody sees a flower – really – it is so small it takes time – we haven’t time – and to see takes time like to have a friend takes time. ~ Georgia O’Keeffe

Awe is why we are here. And this state is the prayer: ‘Wow.’ ~ Anne Lamott

Let me keep company always with those who say, ‘Look!’ and laugh in astonishment, and bow their heads. ~ Mary Oliver

That is why I take walks: to keep an eye on things. ~ Annie Dillard

Louise’s photo cards are available at Crow Valley Pottery in the heart of Eastsound at 296 Main Street next to Darvill’s Bookstore.
