Kayaking the Cold, Crystal Waters of the Puget Sound

This is one of the most beautiful times of the year to kayak along our coast. The air isn’t chilly yet and the water is crystal clear. On the right day, it’s pure perfection.

The smoke of the past month has mostly cleared. The thick orange mass of lightning-fast-multiplying microbuddies that overtook our sea for as far as the eye could see from late July to late August has cleared up. The soupy black porta-potty-smelling organic matter comprising the tidal area of Crescent Beach is now gone. And everyone’s back to their daily obligations of work and school.
