Humanity in All Its Forms

This past month has been wonderful for the soul. Today I’ll let the videos below do the talking. You’ll get a taste of some beautiful hammered dulcimer music by Carolyn Cruso, welcoming a fresh, happy season at the Farmers’ Market. Next is a song that happened spontaneously during the Lummi Canoe Journey’s storytelling session at the Village Green when a member of the Hawaiian Native People, Kimokeo Kapahulehua, found out that it was the birthday of a member of the Lummi Nation, In-jus-poose/Raymond Hillaire. The third video is a singing performance at Orcas Christian School’s Senior Spotlight by Satine Tyree accompanied by her history and English teacher, Andy Rivera, on guitar. An emotionally charged scene from Orcas Christian School’s production of Oliver Twist follows, in which Diego Rivera’s and Meriel Griffith’s hard work pays off as they enact the tumultuous encounter between Bill Sikes and Nancy. Finally, to honor the closure of another school year, Orcas Video filmed and edited another gem (all their films around the island are fantastic) for Orcas Island High School’s graduating class of 2022, shown at the graduation ceremony in the gymnasium yesterday.

May you, too, be filled with the wonder of humanity coming back together in all its splendor.
