Life Goes Internal

Summer here is external. You’ve gotta enjoy every ray of sunshine while it lasts, and they last until almost 10 PM.

Winter here means that life goes internal. Aside from the last few days, the sun has remained remarkably steady through November and December here, which is an oddity in the Northwest. Nevertheless, the feel has still driven us inside for creative pursuits, which means art for me, LEGOs and art for our younger one, and electronic inventions for our older one.

It gets dark around 4ish, so we have a lot of hours to dive into our passions…

A blank slate on which to create
Fun with driftwood
A project for the church mission board in the process
Dismantling an outdated Apple screen our son got for $3 from The Exchange
A mint-box computer (Raspberry Pi inside, or Apple Pi, as our son calls it)
Laser gun holder
Hovercraft redesign (the previous one worked!)
Remotely-controlled raisin-box car
