The Tulip Fields are Bursting

The skies are finally opening up after a long winter of gray and rain – mindbendingly long this time – and we’re having our third day of blue, cloudless skies. When the sky is able to be cloudless is when I feel like Orcas has finally made the turn into the paradise that we moved here to experience. It’s breathtakingly beautiful when the sun is shining here.

The natural world has gone on despite the lack of light and at the same moment our world has reawakened with beaming sunshine, the tulips are bursting with life and color. There are no farms like this on Orcas, but a ferry ride to the mainland and a short drive to Skagit Valley (shorter for us than driving to Costco) lead you to magnificent multicolored fields.
