Prepare to Be Deeply Moved

We’ve never watched so much TV in our family life until now. I’m always big on habits – developing good ones and steering clear of bad ones.

Well, we may be in deep now, as it seems we watch a movie almost every day. It’s one of the only ways to be around other people!

On the Veterans Day break, I decided it was time for the boys to see some good chick flicks. Some romantic comedies. Lovvvvvve stories.

We watched The Proposal first…

Then it was 13 Going On 30

I had recently finished reading a book to our 10-year-old about a Native American girl sent to a white-run school called My Heart is on the Ground, so I decided the boys needed to see Dances With Wolves (which also has a moving love story!)…

Then last night, my husband found a love story I didn’t expect coming – one between a man and an octopus. It’s one of the most stunning documentaries I’ve ever seen, and it just came out on Netflix. I hope you have Netflix. Not only is the filming and the scenery beyond captivating, your heart will be so pulled. I was standing in the kitchen getting dinner ready, and I couldn’t get anything done. It was extraordinary. I want to watch it again. My Octopus Teacher
