Lake Contentment

This summer has been a more gloomy one than I can remember. Usually by a certain point, the sun is beaming strong all summer long.

I’ve spent about four lake days huddled under a blanket or towel with a book, rather than swimming across to the other side and jumping off the bridge.

The other day, the sun came out and I tossed the blanket aside while the kids needed a good hour to warm up their shivering bodies on shore. (Kids will swim for hours no matter what the weather is like!) Across the lake I went for a short time to see the sights…

This man had the right idea; I just had to photograph him – what a quintessential way to enjoy a summer afternoon. His name is Travis King and this is what he does on his days off…

This last photo was the best but it came out blurry. More painting-ish, I guess.

Now back across the lake to rejoin the kids…
