It’s That Time of Year

Next weekend, Halloween is going to happen here! One of the first things our kids lamented when the pandemic hit was the thought that Halloween would not happen.

Not so! This Saturday from 3:00-5:30 PM will be the first community gathering we islanders have experienced since March, as trick-or-treating families will walk through Eastsound collecting sugar. Even the library will continue handing out books to kids. Our family is joyous!

Our younger son said, “Mom, I’m not even excited because of the candy. I mean, that will be great, but I’m just so excited about the whole thing!”

He has been actively creating his costume, as I’m sure others have been doing with exponential zeal this year. Orcas Islanders always give it their all.

Now for the red lights he plans to attach. (It’s all his doing from start to finish.)

I can’t wait to see all of you locals out there!

  1. (Edee, keep this comment hidden – i just wondered if you have explored some of the cool block types in the wordpress editor. when you click the ‘plus sign’ on a new block, instead of choosing one of the blocks in the menu (paragraph, image, quote, etc) click the BROWSE ALL button at the bottom. Then a NEW dialog will pop up with lots of options. The block type called “Slideshow” would be perfect for the images above… try it! I just used a new block type called IMAGE COMPARE to load the faces of the two BibleProject founders, looks pretty cool! Also, (don’t take this as a complaint, but you might be interested…) instead of posting five articles in one night, when you click the PUBLISH button, you can change the field that says IMMEDIATELY to a DATE, then the button will change from PUBLISH to SCHEDULE. That way you can stretch them out of you want (seeing five posts in one day is kind of intimidating on a busy Monday Morning). I have a post coming out every two weeks on Saturday Mornings through Christmas on my new blog !!! I love this new Gutenberg editor. http://galleryofbiblical.art )
