Solstice Luminary Making This Saturday 12-4 PM and Parade Dec 21st at 4 PM

Here we go with a new weekend of festivities! A free luminary making workshop will be hosted at the Orcas Center in the Madrona Room this Saturday, December 9th from 12-4 by local artist and A*OK art teacher, Brook Meinhardt. Participants will walk away with a luminary ready for the parade. (You can choose to craft your own at home. Free LED tea lights can be picked up at the workshop or the Orcas Island Community Foundation.)

Then… a luminary parade on December 21st at 4 PM will begin at the Orcas Island Community Foundation parking lot at 33 Urner Street and will follow a procession along Main Street, down North Beach Road, to the Village Green with lanterns and luminaries of all shapes and kinds lighting our path towards warmer, brighter days ahead.

The parade will conclude with an all-community gathering with music and warm beverages on the Village Green.
