“Mom, no more grafting, lambing, or farming classes from now on,” said my older son in a playful tone as we pulled up to the Orcas Island Historical Museum. “Besides, I already know how to graft.” True.
Lost one. He walked home.
Younger one and I walked in to join the grafting class, something I’ve always wanted to know how to do properly.
He nudged me continuously. “Okay. I know you just got back from a bowling trip all day in Friday Harbor with your class. You want me to take you home?”
Lost the other.
So I went back to the museum and got to do my first workshop as a solo participant rather than as a mom. Bliss. No offense to the young’uns.
