We just took a paper folding class on Friday afternoon at Orcas Center from Bradford Hansen-Smith, who has been folding circular paper for decades, learning about an art that seems to have little to no history. How cool to find out that he is the brother of my friend Vicki Twedell here on the island, though Bradford traveled 1500 miles to be here.
In the middle of the class, my younger son whispered to me, “I’m loving this class!”
Bradford is teaching several free classes around town to kids at the different schools, seniors at the Senior Center, and he just came to our Pioneer Club youth group at church last night, so we got a double dose of him!
His creations are on display at Orcas Center this month. To see more, visit his website.
