We’ve had a lot of winters here on Orcas Island that are like gray blankets over the sky for two or three months straight with nonstop drizzle.
This year, winter has been so wonderfully different. We haven’t had even a blanketed week. Sun has been in and out, which is ever so nice on the psyche.
This was our last day of winter break. It began with horizontal sheets of rain and by noon, it was the complete opposite. That’s how a day on Orcas is.
We enjoyed some frigid air yet clear skies out on the Camp Orkila plain, the biggest wide-open area to soak in sunshine…
This is my first post as the owner of a hand-held device! Hello, modern world. Kind of. I bought my son’s iPod so that I’ll have a much higher-quality camera in my pocket. He’s on to the highest quality stuff. Goodbye, borrowing his iPod and using crappy point-and-shoots and heavy Canon lenses.
