I can’t remember a time in Eastsound that was more forest-clearing and construction-y than right now. Walk a 20-minute circumference around the town and you’ll see a lot of change. Go hug your favorite tree today; it might be gone tomorrow.

This was thick forest
Now it’s cleared for housing
Now you can see clear to the high school field and Buck Mountain
This was all forest too

Another clearing just down the street
Watching a little road become an established street
Down the street a few more paces
This had always been a thick tangle of brambles and pear trees
A public school addition
A track is going in
A mysterious black box
This trail to the airport used to be thick forest on both sides
Thick forest gave way to a haven for identical septuplets plus more coming
