The entire island is invited to celebrate Día de los Muertos on November 5th from 4-10 PM at Tony and Jenna’s house at 550 Rosario Road. Tony and Jenna are the hairstylists across from Eastsound Beach – I have an earlier post about them here.
Jenna says:
Join us in honoring our past loved ones!! What is an ofrenda?: It represents a reminder that life is eternal and the presence of your loved one is everlasting.
Things to include in your ofrenda:
A photo, their favorite foods, favorite activity (art, musical instrument, etc.) favorite colors, beverages etc., FLOWERS FLOWERS FLOWERS, and candles! (LED only please)
Come with friends or with your family to the party, and with face paint galore if you’d like, and bring items to set up your own altar to honor your deceased family members. Feel free to make your altar funny or serious, and there will be a contest for the best altar.
I don’t know about you, but I will need a tutorial when I stand in front of the mirror with my $8 paint set on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a good one I found:
See you there!!!
This is not my photo but a photo of one of you will soon replace it!…
