Walking past the overlook of East Sound today, I passed a little vignette I had to capture.


This is Kristy. She grew up on Beaver Island, the largest island in Lake Michigan.

Kristy grew up taking the ferry to mainland Michigan, and she resonates with Orcas Island in more ways than one. Especially when she hears of high schoolers going off-island to play sports, just as she did.
She feels compelled to live on Orcas Island for all kinds of reasons.
I looked it up, and guess what Beaver Island is called?…
