My mom moved here about six years ago, thanks to a rental literally hanging over the ocean. It’s the bottom floor of a beautiful home and the madrona trees hold it in place on its breathtaking precipice.
My mom always said she wanted to live in the forest and look out at the ocean, and sure enough, she wakes up to this spectacular view over the Sound every morning. She even pays less per month than she paid for senior housing in Texas! God has always taken care of her!
The moment we open her gate, we’re transported into a storybook experience, complete with a magical garden of pink sweet peas and stargazer lilies and an idyllic “piazza,” as she calls it, for sharing wine and cheese in the perfect ocean breeze.
We never take her view for granted, and I think everyone in the family would like to move in with her.
