Though some people travel to the tropics during their kids’ one-week mid-winter break from school to escape the four-months-and-counting of gloomy weather here, I often feel that our kids have this week off for nothing. We have no such plans. They may as well be in school if it’s going to be raining the whole time.
But this week it has now snowed twice, which makes for a total of three snow days this winter. We’ll take what we can get! It’s a magical thing to see when it is uncommon.

Eastsound Beach rarely looks like this
A deer and a bicyclist beat me to it
Love the patterns brought out by the snow

Snow and blue sky – two rarities on the same day

This place looks good in snow!
“Normal” wintry pictures like this just aren’t common here
Usually only moss covers this roof
Interesting shadows abound today on the snow
A totally different look for the school chapel
