This is how Orcas Island would look all winter if the sun stayed out. Between the thick, lush moss at our feet and the dotting of islands out in the glimmering sea, it’s a living, breathing fairytale.

(by coincidence, every time I’ve been to Orcas has been SUNNY AND CLEAR, so most of those look normal to me, HA!)
Yes, the lichen and moss here are just stunning. Some moss is like a thick, bouncy carpet, and the varieties of lichen are beautiful.
