This log is stunning to me. It deserves its own post. The bark beetles who create these tunnels make amazing art. (Can you tell there aren’t too many people out and about when I’m highlighting wood?)
Some areas remind me of the Nazca Lines in Peru (crop circles).
Others resemble a cookie rolling pin I have.
Anyone want custom cookies with bark beetle designs? Could be the next earthy granola trend – forest-dwellers eco-harvesting designs freshly pressed on sugar cookie dough. Eating a little unwanted sawdust never hurt anyone; it adds texture.
