This past Friday morning, Gretchen Krampf co-hosted a radio show – Lift Your Spirits! with Dena Marie on Alternative Talk 1150 KKNW – and invited me to be on and talk about this blog.
Click here to listen. The segment I’m in starts at 20:10, and the following segment features Orcas Island musicians Burke Mulvany and Josie Dow of Revivify Music, who play the Middle Eastern tar (frame drum), Native American cedar flute, handpan (aka “Spacedrum”), kalimba, doumbek, guitar, and ukelele to create what they call electro-acoustic conscious folk fusion.
Thanks so much, Gretchen and Dena Marie – it was a blast, and brought me back to the fun of co-hosting a local radio program 15 years ago in Santa Barbara.
Gretchen has a love for meeting people, connecting them, and digging into the potential they have individually and as a group to make positive realities and change. Her passions converge as a Process Consultant and Leadership Coach, and she has many years of bicoastal work experience. To read all about her, go here and here. She was also our neighbor for many years, hosting retreats in her beautiful home, the Heartwood House.
Dena Marie has experience not only behind a microphone but also as an author, retreat facilitator, and songwriter. Read more about her here.
If you like the music you heard on the intros and outros of the radio show and are interested in learning how to make music on the handpan or frame drum, Josie Dow offers consultations and lessons here.
