I couldn’t let another year go by without capturing one of our island’s festivities that sets it apart from everything else in mainland USA. Down the forested, aptly-named Haven Road sits the Oddfellows Hall, overhanging the ocean and glittering inside with year-round fairy lights and huge paper lanterns. Every year for Thanksgiving, its doors are opened for the festive, soul-filling community potluck. We walk down the hill from our house, through town, past the bookstore, along Haven Road, into the coziness for a few hours, then home in the dark, starry night – picnic basket and overflowing dessert plates in hand.
May I share this with the Washington Oddfellows News?
Yes, Nora, sure. Thank you.

Amazing photos especially beyond the dinner. I would love to talk to you about your work. Great eye for subject and what to frame.
