Pearce Fine Jewelry: Recycled Gold Jewelry and Goldsmithing Workshops

Leah Altman of Pearce Fine Jewelry, below, crafts investment-quality pieces that use 100% recycled gold and natural gemstones. And she is quite a fine person herself!

Before meeting her at the Flocking Swans Mercantile over the weekend, I happened to be reading a flyer at the post office announcing that anyone could bring her their gold jewelry they no longer wanted, and she would pay for it by the gram in order to melt it down and make new pieces. (I love that she does this rather than using new gold.)

Leah is offering 5-hour goldsmithing workshops Fridays at 9:30, where you can melt down an existing piece of gold jewelry and transform it into something completely new (no experience necessary). Visit www.pearcefinejewelry.com to sign up.

And here is some beautiful work from her website…
