How very Orcas that the reason I was running late getting to the Farmers’ Market yesterday was due to a lovely turkey visit on our property. Wild turkeys are in certain places on the island but haven’t come to hang out near our house, at least in the last decade, until now. Who knows if they’ll stay, but my younger son and I sure enjoyed their company. They have beautiful iridescent feathers, and the sounds they make are so interesting to listen to.
I hope these big roaming birds continue to feel safe here, and perhaps even rest their bones on our property at night.
