Every summer around the 4th of July, Orcas Island Community Church puts on Vacation Bible School. It’s free or by donation and is open to any pre-K through 6th-grade child on the island – local or visitor. Keep it in mind next year in case you missed it this time around.
Here is a little hint of what it’s like. I don’t like to post close-up faces or videos – especially of children – unless I have permission, so you won’t get the full effect without seeing and hearing all of the kids playing, crafting, discussing, dancing, and singing. But here’s a taste…
Transforming the church Newly painted treasure-box crafts by the kids There’s a new, fun snack menu each day The jungly crafts room All of the volunteers and adult and child group leaders Bridge across a river Lots of administrative logistics The kids learn songs and dances at the beginning and end of each day (this is just a fraction of the kids) Kids are split into four groups and move in rotations to each session – this is the Missions session Bible story session Snack session Crafts session Games session Each year kids can collect for a particular cause to help other kids somewhere in the world The final day’s water play is always a favorite
looks like a blast. great photos!
Thank you Carol!
