Tomorrow and Friday (April 21st and 22nd), come down to Wildlife Cycles in Eastsound at 350 North Beach Road anytime between 12:00 and 1:00 PM in order to buy a copy of Life on Orcas Island.
While I will have another release event on April 30th at the Orcas Island Historical Museum from 1:30 to 3:30 alongside the authors of three other local books (more information on that to come), I’d like to give islanders these two more chances to buy Life on Orcas Island with a locals’ coupon for $11 off the retail price ($29.99 instead of $40.99). You can use cash, check, or Venmo. (It will sell for the retail price once it’s at the museum event.)
The weather forecast for tomorrow says showers, and if it is indeed raining, I will still be there and the books will be dry!
Many of you have said that you’d like to buy a book, so I thank Dan at Wildlife Cycles for giving me a central and convenient place to get them out to you.
I will not be out front, so as not to attract island visitors on these two days. I will be sitting at this picnic table beside Dan’s shop in order to provide it just to locals.
Again, note that the book will go to its retail price as of April 30th at the Historical Museum event, whether you are a local or a visitor.
Life on Orcas Island will be on the shelves at Darvill’s Bookstore from May 11th on, and can be pre-ordered there as well until that date.
If you aren’t anywhere near Orcas Island, you can order the book online:
Straight from the publisher, ready to print and ship right away to you: BookBaby Bookshop
From our local bookstore, pre-orders until it’s on the shelf May 11th: Darvill’s Bookstore
Spread the word about tomorrow and Friday if you know of someone on Orcas who would like the book. I have 102 left, and once I’m out of books, the locals’ coupon will no longer be available.
