Mark your calendars for June 15, July 13, and July 27 – three fun Wednesdays at the Village Green from 6-9 PM that you won’t want to miss!
Gretchen Krampf of IsleWork LLC coordinated these “creative-community-collaboratory” events focused on weaving our long-time and recently arrived islanders using the social arts to bring together a family-friendly series of evenings of art, music, lawn games, storytelling, interactive activities, and a Resource F.A.I.R. in which Orcas Island and countywide organizations can share their programs and invite volunteers to support their endeavors.
Here’s the plan:
Come on down to the Green with a blanket, picnic, and lawn chairs to enjoy music, djs, collaborative art projects, Solstice parade mask decorating, Trashion Fashion show preparation, games, etc. Some businesses in town will be participating with later hours and specials too.
These three evenings are all about connection and celebrating island culture. There will be folks from other islands, too, and all are welcome.
All of this is being done on a very modest grant that was funded through OICF, as well as the support of additional island donors and co-sponsorship from San Juan County Parks.
Feel free to wear a mask if you prefer, and these will be leave-no-trace events, so please pack out your trash when each one is over.
