You can’t get much better than West Beach. For one thing, beach space on the island is often limited to a few feet if you don’t own property and don’t have permission from property owners to roam the shore. Between the space and the open beauty unobstructed by tall trees, West Beach is stunning at all times of the day – from morning to night.
Many of us will never see a sunset in our lives based on our east-facing, tree-covered properties that block the late-afternoon light if we don’t head out in the evening every now and then to seek the deep oranges and reds that bathe the West Beach dock almost every night.
Going out to West Beach Resort is like a mini-vacation, whether you’re doing a morning beach walk or enjoying a fireside milkshake at dusk. It was one of the first places we ever stayed on Orcas when we visited 20 years ago, and our memories of hanging out around that peaceful beachside cabin are still priceless – the feeling in the air is as though you don’t have a care in the world. Who would ever want to leave?
