A KIXP Interview with Father Berto Tomorrow (Sunday) at Noon

Turn on 102.3 FM KIXP either on your radio or online at kixp.org (and press the play button) to hear Life on Orcas Island with Edee Kulper ~ Sunday Edition for an interview tomorrow, Sunday the 16th, at noon with Father Berto of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church:

The Reverend José Roberto (Berto) Gándara-Perea began his ministry at Emmanuel Episcopal in 2014. Berto is a native of Puerto Rico. He has been a priest for 34 years and has served in the Dominican Republic, Belgium, Spain, Puerto Rico, and in New York City. Berto has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master in Theology. He obtained four other post-master’s degrees from universities in Belgium, Spain, and New York. Berto is passionate about parish ministry, Christian mysticism, contemplative spirituality, photography, and inter-religious dialogue. He shares his life with his spouse, the Reverend Hugh McPhail Grant, who is also an Episcopal priest and works primarily on the island as a psychotherapist, but assists at Emmanuel preaching and with pastoral care.

Tune in to hear more about his life and his spiritual philosophies on Christianity and beyond. I particularly like how Emmanuel tends to have workshops educating any community members who want to attend about other religious philosophies around the world. Every time I’ve ever been around him, Father Berto exudes love, joy, peace, and gentleness.

This episode will appear on the Life on Orcas Island with Edee Kulper podcast after it airs on the radio.
