I am a textile and visual artist who is deeply inspired by place, colour, craft and the small, beautiful moments of everyday life. Sustainability is a very important part of my practice and my textile arts are created with reclaimed and natural materials that I have been collecting and curating for years. I gain my textile inspiration from the fabrics themselves, and love fabrics that have a story to tell or have lived a past life as a different object. Having grown up in the Canadian Gulf Islands and then making the move to Orcas, my paintings are deeply rooted in place, honouring the plants, landscapes, people and creatures of our special islands. My hope is that my art will bring joy, colour and function into people’s homes.
