The Orcas Island Artworks is a curated collection of fine art and crafts from Orcas Island. Every work in our cooperative gallery is crafted with skill and passion by artists who live and create on the island. Discover one-of-a-kind pieces that connect you to the spirit of the San Juans. Located in the hamlet of Olga, Orcas Island Artworks is a cooperative gallery showcasing the creative work of 40 professional artists. Built in 1938 as a strawberry barreling plant, the lovingly restored landmark is run and staffed by the artists themselves, giving visitors the opportunity to meet one or more of them on any given day. The gallery is open from 10am – 5pm daily. Artist demonstration schedule: Saturday (noon-4) Tina Brown (Accordion Cards), Sunday (noon-4) Susie Shipman (Bookbinding).
ORCAS ART BARN
Nestled in the heart of Orcas Island, the Art Barn is a working studio and art space showcasing local contemporary artists whose work is deeply rooted in nature. Wood, rock, metal, paper, clay, and paint come together in unique expressions of the island’s wild beauty. Once a hay barn, this rustic structure has been transformed into a light-filled creative space where art and nature intertwine. Visitors are invited to step inside, explore the textures, colors, and forms inspired by the island landscape, and experience art in an intimate, authentic setting.
FOREST CERAMIC CO.
Sean Forest Roberts and Valeri Aleksandrov run Forest Ceramic Co., where they make colored porcelain tableware. Their original process uses colored slips (liquid clays) to create a variety of designs, making each piece completely unique. Visit their gallery, located in the heart of Eastsound, to see their striking pieces comprised of signature marbles surfaces and intricate carving techniques.
ORCAS CENTER
Orcas Center is the focal point on Orcas Island for performing arts; providing islanders with cultural and artistic experiences and show-casing the talents of our creative community. Orcas Center is hosting the annual Orcas Artist Studio Tour Exhibition from July 31st to August 25th.
