Tonight, a portion of the members of the Aqua Chautauqua Circus are coming to perform at the Odd Fellows Hall to promote and help fundraise for their Eau Canada tour to the Northern Gulf Islands.
On July 11th, a group of island residents are beginning the journey of boating up Desolation Sound to Cortes Island to pick up the 50-person circus on July 16th in order to transport them to events on Cortes, Quadra, Hornby, Denman, and Gabriola Islands.
Tonight’s event featuring internationally known performers including the Flying Karamazov Brothers, Artis the Spoonman, The Fighting Instruments of Karma Marching Chamber Band Orchestra, and more will raise money for food and fuel for the friendship tour. All the performers and support skippers are donating their time. There are committees on each island preparing for the events.
